we have had heated seats on our cars for years, but despite paying much more for our current MH have cold unheated leather seats

we bought it used so could not spec it, but see very few with this 'feature' fitted

Do you have heated seats? Did you spec / pay for them? Was it worth it?

I personally would rather have a folding mirrors option as I had on my Nissan XTrail, and have now on the wife's Hyundai i20.

We have them, they were with the motorhome when we bought it, not the sort of thing I would have paid extra for, maybe in the winter when the leather is cold they might get used. :thumb:

You can buy the heated panels but it's a complete strip down of the seat upholstery to fit, unless you were reupholstering the seats anyway it's not really worth the effort,
I did it on one of my previous vehicles mainly to keep the missus happy because she liked the heated seats on the car we had, but a lot of work when thermal long johns would do as well,:Eeek:

Don't have a Motorhome as yet but yes it's an extra that I have paid for on all of my cars since 2001, not the wife's though, no, not her seat :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:, her car. Leather is cold way up her in the North :winky:

After the discussion on heated seats I have decided to fit some for the missus,
If it means I can turn down the heater temperature to save my tootsies being cooked then it will be a result:thumb:
These are the heating pads I am buying,
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271480423620
:thumb: Just don't go thinking it's a two min job taking the seats apart to fit your heated pads --they are held together with all sorts of things --wires,hog rings, velco, plastic strips etc in fact all manor of stuff ::bigsmile: forgot to mention screws nuts and bolts or any combination of them --sometimes they are very easy to dismantle (10mins) and others it's very hard (1 ormore hours:Eeek:)all depends on your seats ::bigsmile:

Hi terry thanks for that, I am just retiring from the motor trade after fifty years so am totally unfazed by the work! having done them before on several vehicles
Plus I love a challenge:thumb: but I agree some can be right pigs to do,
But I am looking at all the browny points I will get:thumb:

Not only heated seats but my mates jag xf has a heated steering wheel
Even more to go wrong.

Hmm I wonder who thought that one up, let's fit a steering wheel with loads of controls a huge airbag and a heater oh and whilst were at it let's make the column move in 2 axis electrically too when you open and close the door.

My Porsche had a heated steering wheel. It was OK but I would have rather had cruise control which the original owner had no put on the car. Strange really considering he put almost every other option on to it. Just shows you that we all have different preferences.

I'm a newbie
I have heated seats! Mainly due to the fact that the engine's/ hamster wheel's directly under the seats. Toasty in winter but a bit problematic in summer.
