Have you had a heart attack and had a stent fitted or a bypass heart op and getting towards 80 . How do you get on with insurance?

Bypass yes. Insurance no real problem just a bit extra on premiums. Most annoying is that the bypass is know as CABG. On one document they put it as CABBAGE !! 😂

Nowhere near 80 though. 55 at the time. Shop around as always and make sure you include all medicines. I am currently with Admiral and you don't need to declare it after 5years but I made sure they have a note of it. In theory the blockage has gone so in reality I should be a better bet than before the op. 👍

Had heart attack in South of France in 2016. No insurance problems other than a large price hike.

For health travel insurance its best to declare everything you have had and tabs you are taking. It bumps the price, more so with age, but you need to be covered.

Take note that higher risk folk are being blocked out on insurances at the moment due to the Covid situation. I was advised to wait a few months when things settle down again. (I had a 2nd stent fitted which was later deemed unnecessary but hey ho it is on my medical record now).
