Heads up for Saga Platinum credit card users - particularly if currently abroad!

I’m not sure how many people on here use the Saga/AIB credit card, but we’ve picked up from elsewhere that users have been getting letters stating that it will cease operation from the end of March. We’ve not had a letter yet ourselves, but have seen copies of the letter, and it seems to be that the contract between Saga and AIB is ending. There is discussion on moneysavingexpert.com of the subject. Apparently there may be a replacement card scheme coming in later in the year(!)

Now I have no idea whether anyone at Saga is doing anything more than sending letters out, but obviously if you're currently abroad, using a Saga card and not due back until April, you may want to check it out with them.

I can confirm this. Just spoken to SAGA card services. Will cease wef 31 March 2019, no replacement yet. We'll need to find another card!

We have not received notification yet, well John hasn't, his card it's a pain anyway I am joint cardholder, but if i buy online the code for security is sent to john's phone. He has ahabit of saying cn you just order and then going off to golf.
Wonder if we could stop paying then too
