Im hoping to go to spain for the winter and im wondering what to do about my headlights.
I have a winnebago with two rectangular headlights either side.
Do I take them off and turn them round as I presume they were in america ?

Hi

The headlamps on my Gulfstream are rectangular and LHD. I used beam benders and they worked ok.

Nose up to a wall and you should see a beam pattern that goes flat and then up at the left hand side. Use black gaffer tape to remove the above the line bits.
You will not only be legal on the continent but it will also pass the UK MOT. The upward "tick" is not required either side of the Channel.

and rogers correct....turn them over and they will 'dip' upwards.

swap them side for side and you,ve gained nowt.

beam benders or gaffa tape....the only way to go. :thumb:

I'm pretty certain that I've read that American headlamps do not have a side to side bias.
They point straight ahead and (obviously) slightly down, so you dont have to fit converters.
Mind you, I suppose that would depend on if who ever first imported the rig also changed the headlamps for UK ones?
i know that both my '94 Sunsport and '99 Landau retained the originals so I never had to bother.
Might be worth checking first.:thumb:

Correct, mine dip down, not right or left .. :thumb:

On saying that, two candles would give a better light

Ive found the same on my Winnebago Jim. Ive only driven it once at night so far down the A34 from Oxford to Bournemouth and two candles would have been better. Im thinking of putting some spotlights on the bullbars to help things out.
