Just been on GHR news, police are stopping motorhomes and caravans on the M5 in Somerset. Checking tyre tread, condition and age, as well as asking about vehicle servicing. Good reminder to check tyres and move stationary vans to spread load on new part of tyre.

Not just tyres several places police now doing full checks including loading weights in Devon and Cornwall. CSW (Community speed warch) groups who could only previously report speeding and other offences so you only got a warning letter if caught will now have regular police officers embedded in the group who can issue on the spot fines.

Probably because they usually crash between J25 & 26 every week, & have done for the last 40 years..

They were very active yesterday down there , my mate was passing through and saw several police cars and bikes
