Thursday - Viva Italia !

Today we drove 425km from Langres to Pre Saint Didier

We stopped en route for lunch at Mont Blanc services and enjoyed a typical Italian home made lunch - with a view !

Our home for the night is at CC49523 which has breathtaking mountain views

Having been stuck behind the wheel for hours we decided a bracing walk was in order. So climbed up the mountain side to the Orrido viewpoint - you can see it at the top of this pic

For the foodies.....

Opposite the Camperstop is a little chalet which sells the local Fontina mountain cheese

We had a little tasting session and purchased so cheese, butter and yoghurt and are now sat en-van enjoying the cheese with a nice glass of red.

I was waiting for the view from the platform too as we were there on Monday and as Anthony doesn't do heights, we didn't go up either, not that you can get there from where Robert was

Friday - from the mountains to plains.

We woke to a beautiful sun rise across the mountains.

Our journey today took is from Pre Saint Didier to Castel San Pietro Terme. A distance of 466km

We’re staying at CC6104 which is a short walk from the historic town.

For the foodies..

Tonight we’re enjoying G&T’s before heading out to dinner.

We’ve come to Osteria Del Borgo a typical restaurant for our dinner.

On the specials menu......

Might give that a miss

3 of us ordered Veal with rosemary

I ordered pork chop

We also ordered Fried Veggies

Grilled veggies

And Spinach with oil and garlic

We’re pairing the food with 2 litres of red wine from Venice - it’s yummy

And a big bottle of fizzy water

Can you guesss the bill?

Saturday - from the plains to the sea

Today we drove 313km to Guilianova and are staying at CC8553 (in the grounds of a restaurant)

Mixed grill

Lamp chops - yummy

Spinach with garlic

And Spinach with lemon

Washed down with two bottles of house red and a bottle of posh water

It’s been great so far
Gets very hot and you can cook with the lid closed.
