Joan and I are going to Spain on the 28th of December for what has become our annual trek. We have been on Pride of Bilbao a couple of times but at that time of year the journey can be very uncomfortable. We now go through the tunnel for about £55, which is't bad for a 7 metre camper. We will only take a couple of days to get through France because it gats a bit chilly. Once into Spain there are lots of sites that are very reasonable especially if you use the ACSI card, available from vicarious books. We will aim to be in Benicasim, just north of Valencia for the 4th of Jan. Three Kings day is the 6th of Jan and is their Christmas day. They then have a week long festival there which will start on the second or third weekend of Jan. It is excellent and has to be seen to be believed. We will stay in Benicasim for about a month before assessing the weather and deciding on the next move. Bonterra Park campsite in Benicasim is very popular and booking is advisable although there is another site called Camping Azahar only about 1 kilometre away which usually has vacancies. Both sites have very good facilities and there are plenty of supermarket type shops close by. If anybody is intending to travel at the same time, 3pm shuttle on the 28th of December, we would be happy to share our experience with you. I am a bit of an old plodder and generally dont exceed 60mph. We stay on Aires de camping car in France.
