HDMI HELL (1 Viewer)

A friends laptop was connecting to her TV using HDMI, now it's stopped working. Message on TV is. 1. Check cable connection and settings of source device. 2 press source on your remote control to select the source device.

Tried both. Nothing. Plugged my laptop all ok. Checked drivers on her laptop, nothing. When I plug the HDMI cable in the laptop screen goes off.

Any suggestions?

its not a simple finger trouble is it ? i guess its toooo obvious to say that you can change the display settin by the simple press of a button on the keyboard..

As above some need a key press to toggle output to the external screen . often with another key held down.

right click the desktop and that should open the graphics control program and see if you need to select output to HDMI

As bartyfixedit says right click on the desk top and select graphic output options with the laptop connected to the tv you should be able to select out put to laptop screen and hdmi.

If that works you can then play with other settings till you get what suits.

Tried all that FAIL. No other ideas, gave up,. Old machine. Grrrr
