Might be an idea to phone the council and check the area for the motorhome parking. We came through Hawick today going to Carlisle and back and there was a lot of work going on in the car park. Looked like parts of it were being resurfaced. They might just be closing off the areas they are working on, but moving parking areas around.
Hope this is of some use. Charlie.

we stay there about 6 week ago good stop over with a club just across road with entertainment on till late on sat

Stayed Tues and as Irunbru said the local boy and girl racers were out in force until 10pm then all quiet
Work continues on the car park but it was no trouble to us with only patching work going on
Steak night at Wetherspoons went down very well
