Just about to leave for west country all I have planned is I have put Ilfracombe into sat nav. I think I will post this little trip up for fun and anyone can chip in with ideas suggestions if they wish. So I have full fridge full water half tank of diesel and a desire to get away from reality and kick back and relax.

If ya dont hear from me again the trip started a total disaster enjoy your weekend People

I have been caravanning for 32 years but in 2014 I have"gone over to the dark side"
Getting close to the time of year when the West Country fills up and us lot here near Portsmouth rise about 2 feet out of the sea as England gently tilts Westward and Cornish villages get flooded!! ;)

LOVE Ilfracombe

Many happy childhood memories. We are hoping to make a return there soon, see a program on TV with Robson Green, there are some "Victorian" bathing/swimming rock/pools along a part of the beach. Check it out if you can. Thats what we intend to do on our return. I knew nothing of them till seeing on TV.

From Ilfracombe head for Woolacombe beach and Croyde Bay. Excellent beaches.

51.0091244 -3.5259251 Anchor Inn at Exebridge is nice and they have a nice large car park where we stayed overnight. Its down by the river so a really nice spot. Some of the roads round Dulverton are a little narrow involving some long distance reversing when we meet a skip wagon coming the other way. All the cars behind us also had to reverse. Dunster Castle is nice if you are in the National Trust. Only thing I remember about Minehead was SWMBO having a shower in one of the car parks while I fetched water from the tap I had found to fill the tank.

Planning is highly overrated. You've done the same amount of planning we do, ie you picked an area! :D

Just a quick recap 2 nights off piste camping morning walking round West Bay. Then afternoon on the beach way Hong world go bye and a wedding under the cliffs. Meal in the restaurant The Station Kitchen. Then for dessert walk round town and a nice 99.

Today we walked round car boot then over the golf course to Freshwater and back along coast. Under the cliffs back to the bay where we bought 2 pasties to have with salad at the van. Bit more chilling out and people watching. I'm sticking with the idea to head for Ilfracombe but unsure where yet.
here is a few photos
Connection slow post more when I can
