As I said we've done this for 20 years. Its always peaceful and quiet in the touring area this time of year. And the 20 stone women wearing skin tight whote leggings over whatvi can only describe as a bum that looks like a huge bag of spuds seems to have stayed in fashion at Haven, uurgh shivver gag.
So we know the lay of the land.

Having had the privilege of having it on my patch in a previous existence, he is not far from the mark! It was known for meeting up of various clans we only knew this when trotting races took place on the A583 or someone towing a caravan stopped and asked where the bare knuckle championship was taking place ( from the horses mouth so to speak!) I remember a family called Fury, wonder whatever happened to them?

We use them for parking up, convenience due to my disabilities and dont use facilities.
So its not so cheap for what we get.
In fact we now realised there's plenty of other options.

We wouldnt take hook up as we dont need it but it was included, lithium batteries and solar are enough for a few days.

In fact I could have used a static caravan for cheaper there, gone on the car saved fuel and used their gas. So dodnt go for cheap.
My wife chose this site to visit the bird reserve over my choice Haggerston Castle, which was even cheaper. But once again I chose it for location. She won.

I get really peed off with folks criticising haven , this is the second one this week, and they certainly aren't the only ones.
What are they used to, what do they expect for a tenner or less including electric, it's cheaper than stopping at home and when they say they have been going for years why in hell do they go back.
I am certainly not talking about the op , I was going to start another thread about haven in general but thought we had got enough threads about haven running.
We have been going since the late sixties all over the country and only go when we decide to go somewhere upmarket to us instead of the back of some pub somewhere or a European aire with no facilities at all.
As I say we have been going for over 50 years and never been disappointed or seen any reason to complain about anything.

Another thing I forgot , we have taken the kids over the years and even though they now go on fancy all inclusive foreign holidays they still go back to haven for breaks with their kids.
They all love it.

So how do you know its filthy if you dont use any facilities, a bit of stray wind blown rubbish in a bush is not filth?

Ingrained and rotting rubbish around the pitch. Drink cans and other waste in a hedge not maintained for a long time.

Yes but we spent most the time on lindisfarne or touring.
It is a dump around the touring areas. Bit a lot of people say Haven are not putting money into the tourer areas as they are planning to close them.
Fortunately we seem to be getting offers of places to stop since I started this thread.

Just a quick extra fact for you. Most my caravanning friends who have visited Haven with us nolonger want to, so we go to mostly CMC or CCC sites and certified sites.
They dont have pets!

Yes there are plenty of options, a lot of 5 van sites around specially as you don’t use site loos & showers.

We like stopping at pubs, not to save money as we only stop at pubs that sell really good food.
The problem is when we are there we get asked thousands of questions about Tango, she does photos, we regularly get asked if staff can have photos. We also get asked if they can share photos. We don't refuse most requests. But sometimes we just need quiet. We have some Pubs that give us an out of view area to eat where we are not disturbed. We love to help support pubs, as I understand the battle they have to stay in business and Tango attracts trade.
We generally used Haven as a quiet break, the touring areas are usually quiet and we choose sites near areas we can cycle. We usually have a walk around and particularly allow children with learning disabilities to approach Tango. We love to see these families smile.
My wife and I really wont have a problem choosing replacements for our Haven stays.
In fact I think its just pure lazyness that we have gone there anyway, with easy online booking.
Those who do not have muxh knowledge of Macaws and their intelligence may not understand how sharing your life with a bird like Tango is such a commitment. I won't go into all that here.

A life time commitment as parrots generally have long lives.

They also get possessive and jealous.

I have had a very apologetic call from higher up in Haven. I have accepted a settlement.
She accepted all the points in my complaint and has told me they will be dealt with. Especially and referral to pet friendly in their marketing, and people renting their caravans out. Their terms and conditions are to be altered to say only Dogs and no other pets will be permitted. The other Issues with rhe site and staff are to be investigated also.

We have had contact from Fun members offering us parking near some of the Haven sites, and we are most grateful.

I bet it’s 18 grand, a free static with 10 years ground rent, why don’t you just screw them to ground.

Im actually at marton mere right now so after my breakfast im off to collect my full refund,to be fair it does look a bit untidy the grass needs cutting but I guess they have laid off summer staff. Other than that happy days.
