Not everyone's cup of tea but out of season some cracking cheap deals at prime locations, even more discounts if a member of the big clubs. Yes, Parkdean have great offers too, if you go on their mailing list. We had a cheap night at 'Grannies' on the way up to John o'Groats. It's hard to grumble at the price but the place was full of kids, dogs off the lead etc and the bar/restaurant was very cafeteria feeling. If you can get past that kind of stuff and as you say, go and do your own thing, then it's hard to argue with price verus facilities.
