Wonderful tale. Thanks, Mags & Shirley. It brought back many happy memories of when we stayed for 3 months in 2007 in a little country cottage in La Molina near Cútar. We visited many of the places that you mentioned. We adore that area of Spain.

Great read, and reminded me of our stay at Pres de Vinuela. We attempted to go to the market in Vinuela village. Tight squeeze for even our little van, no parking to be had. So we ended up driving back to a supermarket at Velez Malaga!
If you continue walking up the valley beyond Los Romeros you’ll find an amazing little seat, with inscriptions in several languages (including Welsh!) encouraging you to sit and enjoy the view - it’s stunning.

Popped out of a tunnel on the way to Andora last Tuesday and into a snowstorm, it went against the grain but common sense won through and we abandoned the idea of a tankful of fuel for less than 1€ a litre and headed down below the snow line.

Sorry it’s not a video, I couldn’t load it.

Hmmm I've started up quite a few and bottled it half way up.
Others I've pressed on to the top and been rewarded for my courage. Earlier today I tried to reach a wild spot which was up a mountain overlooking calpe but bottled it about 3/4 way up as it had got to hairpin bends almost at 45 degree turns and I was losing traction. Nice view from where I did a 15 point turn though ha ha
