Not long enough!
Not by humans! we pulled into a nice quiet spot one late afternoon, put the kettle on and sat down for a nice cuppa and then noticed all the windows had thousands of flys on them just looking for a way in, if we had opened a door the van would have full of them so we skedaddled:eek:

Never in the van.

But as a 17 year old i parked my capri in the TA car park in Aldershot....came back several hours later to the MOD and bomb disposal team preparing to carry out a controlled explosion of said capri....

The joys of growing up in Aldershot

Parked in an unofficial Aire in Fuengirola, Spain.
Noisy banging on the walls at 5am, British woman telling us we were on her pitch for the biggest bootsale I've seen.
Got out and talked to her, after much arguing, she said we would be welcome to stay if we just moved the van 2 feet so she could get in.
We did and enjoyed a leisurely stroll around a bootsale, much earlier than I ever would normally.

There were some unofficial Wild Campers near our place in Torrevieja who were there for a couple of months, one day the Guardia Civil (Nothing civil about that lot) moved them on at Gunpoint time taken for them to pack up & move 5 mins
that included paying a ginormous fine , never did find out what the crime was though.

During the middle of the night while parked on the sea wall at Aldeburgh we were woken by yobs banging on the van walls and windows.. when I got up to see what was going on I saw them speed off in a car at high speed.. Inspecting the van in daylight I found several dings on a panel and one window was cracked.. so yes.. we moved on that morning..
The result of this rather frightening incident is my wife Jan won't do wild camping anymore..

Campervans have since been banned from parking on Aldeburgh sea wall ... see sign on Google map

Shame about Aldeburgh sea wall camping. You can stay at Sizewell beach car park overnight. Max 16 hours. We have done it many times.

First big trip in motorhome I pulled up just before 6pm next to cemetery in France. Had just put the kettle on when a bell began to toll in the village. Must be the Angelus bell I thought. Then the vehicles began to arrive......and all the people dressed in black....a funeral at 6pm?? I shot out of the vehicle, apologising profusely in my best French, saying I will move immediately. Reply was, you're ok, we'll only be a short time, stay there. I waited while they all went into cemetery, dogs seemed to know they should keep quiet, then they all drove off after a few friendly waves to me.
I thought it'd be a quiet spot for the night....

Never been moved on by a human.
After a long days drive in France we stopped, worn out, in a spot by a church in a pretty little village, only to find the church bell rang on the quarter hour. Did my brain in so had to move on.

I was moved on late at night from a casino carpark some years ago by security staff. Seems that despite having eaten in their restaurant I hadn't lost enough money at their tables.

Out for a run near the South Downs on Friday (Half term school holidays) and thought we would go into the car park at Michelham Priory at Upper Dicker for a brew up. Car park full so drove around the corner to a field gate with a large open space to brew up for 30 minute stop. Just finishing our sarnies when a man appeared all sweaty from jogging with his children to tell us , 'It was not allowed'. that the land belonged to the local private school, that he was the head master and that he was a boarder in the nearby house!!! I thought about offering him sixpence as compensation for tresspassing- but instead kindly informed him that we had finished our cup of tea and would be on our way shortly!

Hi sunshine, sorry don't know the name of it but it is the one by the cross roads ... There is a supermarket and a sort of beehive house there ... If facing the car park and you go right then you come to where the Malvern Country and Western show is...... does that help at all? Lorry drivers used to stay overnight there ... in fact they may still do so as someone told me it is ok for lorries to stay there just not cars or motorhomes.

Ummm...... interesting description. :) Not sure I can recognise it from that, but if anything has something looking like a beehive next to it I shall know to avoid it (y)

It was something like an Oust House ...... aaaagh.... hELP. If Gaz is on the forum, he knows the car park I mean.... :(

If the car park is on your right, the road bends left over a bridge and the funny house is on the left.
