We parked our motorhome Fiat 2.8 jtd (2004 Mahoosive Hymer B774) facing in the way. The ground is soft where we park it and our idea was to avoid slipping on the wet (as was then) ground. We had heavy rain in Scotland before the next weather disruption. When it snowed heavily we were left with a dilemma. To get it facing the right way we tried to turn it around in the snow (I know!) and it was slipping too much to move. However, whilst doing this obviously futile manoeuvre the engine stopped abruptly and now we get nothing when turning the ignition. Just a click. I fear we have killed her. Can someone give us any idea what could have caused this? We left it for 24 hours thinking she might be speaking to us again but still nothing. I'll call out the RAC tomorrow but really worried she might have quietly died.

If it stopped without any nasty noises and now won't start it's a good chance it is an electrical problem.
The click sounds like the starter solenoid is trying to engage but the battery is too flat. Doesn't explain the sudden stoppage unless a cell in the battery has gone open circuit. So it could just be the battery.

Thanks folks. The screen on the habitation side says engine battery 12.8 but I noticed the battery light on the dashboard flickering. I'll let the RAC person sort it out.
