Has anyone stayed in Almerimar marina? (1 Viewer)

If so do you know if you have to book it or do you just pitch up and hope for the best?

Pitch up and see. Get early to avoid disappointment. There are 2 parts to the motor home parking at the marina. The main mole where the marina office is and the secondary part over the other side of the marina. Although I think you have to go to the office first for access and sign in. We have always stayed on the mole. There is another aire just back in the town, so a 3rd plan b.

The marina is ok if there is no wind, if it's windy the noise from the rigging of the boats is loud and continual. We use Pedro's about 2 k's out of town. It's a nice walk along the beach into town.

Made it to the marina, it is quite busy and a brits have beaten the Germans for the first time in ages! Really great weather and quite quiet. The drive from Los Albaricoques revealed more and more plastic cities. It has to be seen to be believed really. Still, suns out, tomorrow is birthday and a full English with extra lard and HP sauce!

Only meant to stay here for a couple of days but ended staying a week. Had a view over the beach to the mountains, weather was stonking, so we stayed put. A few bars and restaurants were open and managed to get washing done by a very nice german lady in the laundromat. Site facilities for waste was a big grill/drain thing in the car park. Water and Electric provided 10 euro for stay and 3 euro for electric. Only disappointing thing was the showers and toilets, they are about a 5 minute yomp away and the showers were cold. We investigated the other moho park on the other side of the marina, it was pleasant enough right next to the beach behind a big breakwater wall though again with water,leccy and toilets. Bars and restaurants nearby.

Almerimar is well worth a visit. Check in at the harbour-masters office where a very friendly chap will take a little money off you and you can also get the keys to toilets and hot showers. For an extra charge you can also get a hook-up. Drinking water is available free and there is a place to empty your toilet. As there are two areas available (one each end of the harbour) you should not need to book in. In high season the parking near the office can get noisy all night. Both parking areas are adjacent to the beach. With large variety of shops and eateries, this is a place we tend to call in most years.
