hello we are planning to spend a couple of months at playa del poniente motril, was wondering if anyone has stayed here and what is your opinion.. thanks

We stayed there in about 2004, a year before we bought a motorhome.
The location is great. They were just starting to do major improvements to the town. There are lots of places nearby to drive to. The beach is fab. The tapas in the bars are free with each alcoholic drink you buy (not just crisps!)
The downside (back then) it was very noisy at night - a club on the beach in front of the campsite. Dogs barking all night, kids on mopeds/motorbikes doing what kids do on mopeds.
There were fishing boats going back and forth at night, just out to sea so there was a constant droning noise.
The campsite is two thirds static and long-term pitches and the locals all turn up on the weekend to enjoy themselves!
