Hi all, i'm currently insured with Highway via AIB but had a better qoute on both price and what's covered with Aviva through Comfort which i am giving serious consideration but was wondering if anyone has had experience of making a claim with Comfort/Aviva and how you got on?

Yes had MH recovered from France had hire car to ferry then taxi to English hire company drove home and had to take car back locally only problem was they recovered MHbut didn’t tell me had to ring them to get address of repairs so we could get everything out

Plenty of people trust Comfort here and they have a reasonable reputation. We have an Aviva policy but from AIB. And as I can't stand Comfort (private matter). but love Aviva, it's a win win for me

Yes, in 2019 someone sprayed nearly all the panels of our Knaus with something corrosive. This resulted in an almost total respray. Assessor came and inspected and then arranged the work with Adams Morey. Only £200 excess for me to pay. Premiums have gone up slightly each year since.
Very pleased with Comfort/Aviva.

Some years ago I had a claim dealt with by Avia & no premium increase.

I had a claim. Phoned comfort’s line and it went straight to Aviva where the claim was dealt with quickly and efficiently. I told them where I was going to take it and also the price. It was agreed on the spot and all they needed were some photos and the estimate. Paid up three days after forwarding the invoice

I had a total loss claim and they paid quickly with no fuss. Still with them, but very big premium increase at renewal.

Some years ago I too had a motor claim with Aviva. A gentleman stepped forward and offered to be a witness. Aviva did not contact the witness!
Aviva settled on a 50% fault blame. They told me that was cheaper - for Aviva than going to court. Aviva told me my no claims would not be affected.
However my insurance premiums increased as Aviva had paid out and this was visible on ‘Cue’
‘Which?’ legal told me Aviva could do what they want. It’d appear their T&C’s won out!
Which? were sympathetic. They also said the insurance business needed a good shake up!
Ombudsman next to useless.
So even though this was not my fault I was penalised financially.
I no longer use Aviva. I’m with LV

I had a claim some years back, went very well as far as the insurance was concerned . Slight increase in premium for a couple of years.
Rapido supplying the parts, a different matter they took ages and were silly money.

Only problem I have with Comfort is always thinking it is Victor Meldrew Associates. I don't believe it!

Thanks for all your replies, it's really appreciated.

Yes we had an accident down on the Algarve at Portimao when we caught an overhead sun canopy ripping the side of the van. Comfort were brilliant giving us the option of repairing down there or bringing it home. I managed to do a temporary fix with some sheet plastic and sealant to finish the holiday and get us home. As soon as we got home I called them, they had a guy from Aviva there next day to check the damage and within days it was in and repaired with absolutely no quibbles. Excellent service

Thanks, its looking like comfort/aviva unless AIB can come up with a comparable qoute👍
