in France or Germany? I'm talking course fishing here, after tench, barbel, bream and roach, not a big carp man but don't mind a few smaller ones now and again....

If you have, where abouts and methods and baits appreciated please

@Smith and Sharp , were I you I would keep to the French part of the Mosel ! Fishing rules and getting licences are a nightmare in Germany, each state has its own laws and then there are "bundesweit" (nationwide) laws, plus, although you can get a tourist licence, you have to do a course and an exam to get it ! Hope this helps

from what i hear from a german friend, the eastern europeans have fished many rivers clean. they eat anything they catch

We travelled up the Mosel last year and didn't see anyone fishing.
