Came across to France an hour and a half ago, plenty of police presence on access roads to Eurotunnel here at Calais, drove straight to hotel. About a 45 min delay on diversion from M25 to M2 due to volume of traffic. Fingers crossed for our trip to Belgium tomorrow.

Mr Burnett added: "It seems certain that traffic crossing from the UK will find it almost impossible to leave the port as access to the A16 is denied.

This indicates it will affect those travelling to France so we're keen to hear how anyone travelling out today, tomorrow get on. Good luck.

Yup.. We were over in the Dordogne area since Thursday 1st Sept.. Return ET to blighty this morning at 07:20am. We decided to leave Sunday lunchtime and get to Calais before the Mayhem started. We arrived at 9:30pm and everything was fine. ET allowed us to park in their overflow carpark and we got away no problem.. Looking at Sky News when I got home this morning, we are very happy we took the decision we did....

We've had a txt from Eurotunnel to say that 'Commercial exits blocked when you get out of the train from Folkestone. You'll be diverted' and gives a link to alternative routes. Doesn't mention non-commercial so hopefully we'll be OK:pray:

Reporting back from our crossing to Calais!
Our train was booked for 16.20 but there was a 30 min delay but that seems to be normal in our experience.
Leaving the train we were directed on a different road to the usual one and up to a roundabout or T- junction (can't remember which now:confused:) Unfortunately we took the wrong turning and found ourselves unable to get onto the A16 going south as we were NORTH of the blockade . Resorting to good old fashioned Michelin map ( the sat-nag kept sending us back to Calais!) we took a detour off the A16 at J46 via Ardres and Guines to J33 and back on at A16 SOUTH of the blockade and on track heading south
So actually it wasn't too bad. What queues there were, moved fairly quickly.
So anyone going over in the next few days should be OK as long as you take the correct turn at the junction/roundabout ie right to go east on A16 or left to to south towards Boulogne.
Have a good trip (y)

We travelled Calais to Folkestone last Thursday morning. No problems at terminal or on approach Autoroutes. First problem we hit was the M25!

Looks like it's over?

Eurotunnel tweeted that the demonstration had now ended and that its passenger service "continues to operate normally in both directions".

This is the latest I could find and would imply that the blockade is still in place?.

 Through Tunnel at 5.50am no problems. Went to have a look at Cite Europe but everything closed. So continued towards Boulogne and have ended up in Aire at Montreal Sur Mer, not very nice but just here for a rest for a few hours. So tired, up at dawn of crack and journey so far has been mainly in thick fog :frowny: Will feel better once we've ingested a baguette and a cuppa

 Yep, very tired but after a nap wash n brush up feeling very refreshed. We're actually going to stay on this Aire tonight as contrary to our first impression it's ok. You don't park in the large rough carpark we were in. The Aire is beside it and there are quite reasonably good sized hard standings and it's free if you don't need water etc  Haven't explored the town properly yet but it looks worth a good walkabout.

There are some nice city walls to walk around the town and I seem to remember a nice Boulangerie for your morning bread.
