Lots but slow learner.
Well it must be. Just got back from Oulton Park Classic Car Racing and Show, many thousands of people, virtually no masks anywhere indoor, or the car club groups.
I must have looked really odd wearing mine.
Are people just not getting it???? (the problem not the 19)

Well,I think the great British public are confused.
Unsurprisingly,as there are mixed messages coming from Gov.
I’ve recently heard people saying 19 has mutated and is now less serious.........how convenient if you are one who wants to flout the rules!
Only time will tell whether we are being too cautious or not.

Masks do not protect the wearer - they 'may' protect others if you have the virus.
Where's the motivation to wear a mask?
I'd guess the majority of mask wearers think they are protecting themselves.
Doesn't matter what they think as long as they wear them

The problem I have with face coverings is that the wearer thinks that it allows them to flout social distancing...

Doesn't matter if they wear them or not, as long as they keep 2m+ away.

Not just the government giving mixed message

Coronavirus: Bus journeys will be first challenge of new school year

Teachers in England and Wales have been preparing to welcome back children for the autumn term, putting in place coronavirus-safe measures. But with 17% of school journeys in England made by bus last year and public transport capacity limited by social distancing, is transport a weak link in plans for a safe return to the classrooms?

Coronavirus: Is it time to move on and get back to normal life?

Are the government and media overdoing coronavirus? Is it time to move on and get back to normal life?
These are big questions, and given the parlous state of the economy, they deserve some attention.
Let me start with some positives, which may help encourage the viewpoint I see a lot on social media, that Covid is over, finished, done with.
The trend in deaths and serious illness continues to decline.
The number of patients in hospital who have a confirmed Covid-19 diagnosis has been falling for months.
At the peak in the UK there were around 20,000 - now it's fewer than 800.

Well im sorry
Anyone who is ”confused” about the spread of this disease either works on BBC Breakfast ori is a bit hard of thinking

In what passes for normal life at present we keep a minimum of 2 metres away . (Immaterial at present as we are in day 12 of Q14 having returned from France).

If we are anywhere where we can’t maintain 2 metres we either don’t go or we wear masks.

Other than that we get on with life. We are still reluctant to mix with crowds but are happy to visit anywhere that seems to have got its act together, pubs, restaurants etc.

As two over 70’s, but physically fit and well we are not panicking about the risk but take sensible precautions. Those who declare that CV-19 is a hoax may live, (or otherwise), to regret it.

They are not getting it. 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

I do know that but I am protecting others just in case I may be carrying virus without being aware
I wonder why pre Covid my dentist and surgeon at the hospital wore masks, they must have been carrying something.BUSBY

Wish we could have joined you.

In Germany at the moment. Nearly headed for Spain but need to get back home to sort things and get back to work.

It was announced the day we docked in Rotterdam that we would have to self isolate when we return.

Ridiculous, we’ve been on our own in this box on wheels apart from shopping and lake swimming. Not used swimming pools etc.

Yet my nephew, flew to and from turkey with his family. No face masks, no social distancing (jeep safari in vehicles with other people). Stayed in a huge complex. Back at work day he got home 🤷‍♂️

They could have had a really strong curry with onions and garlic the night before..

Ditto 70+ with the added issue of diabetes, there i have a vested interest in keeping WELL away and not taking risks.
I also have diabetes, type 2 & under good control, and otherwise a healthy 69 year old.
Having contracted Covid at end of March, and spending 2 weeks in hospital, including 3 days in HDU, i fought this virus and beat it,
I am proof that this virus can be overcome, and that the majority of deaths have occurred to people with underlying health conditions, and their bodies sadly could not cope with the added effects of the virus.
I am by no means fully recovered, i am still breathless, lethargic, and easily tire. Some however have had a very serious reaction to the virus, and i sympathise with them and their families.
Whilst i do believe we need to exercise caution, i also believe that this country now needs to get back to work and get our economy on the road to recovery, instead of paying people to sit at home and then pay them further if they go on holiday and then need to self isolate.
If it is safe to go on holidays, go to pubs, restaurants, beaches, etc, then it is safe for everyone to return to work,
This is just my own opinion and i do not expect everyone to agree with me.

We have had the day in Mojacar which was quiet. Everyone we saw was wearing a mask (obligatory here in Spain) with the exception of a group of five teenagers that we gave a wide berth to. This is the problem here, the younger generation think they are infallible not realising or choosing to ignore that they are the carriers of the virus who are often A symptomatic and responsible

for giving it to the older generation.

we now have a Covid tracker app in spain called Radar COVID. Hopefully now this will be effective in tracking more cases so they can quarantine.

I totally agree but probably like you I am retired so as it won't apply to me so get all the idle buggers back to work,,7 days a week if possible..BUSBY 🤣🤣🤣

Seeveral ounces of common sense and more than a smidgen of intelligence I would assume ;)

As above, we are currently on day 12 of Q14. We will continue to comply in order to protect others but can’t help wondering why..........

.....at the beginning of the total lockdown we were allowed to leave the house for exercise, when CV-19 was at its height. Now it is at a much lower level we are not even allowed out of the house.

Pendle etc. with CV spikes, have more freedom of movement than we do. We have returned from an area of France that is virtually virus free.

I can’t help thinking that Q14 is more about discouraging people taking holidays abroad than “following the science “. On returning to the U.K. our Immigration forms weren’t checked, although we had completed them as required. In the last 12 days there has been no contact from Track & Trace to see if we are being good little citizens by staying at home.

I am generally a supporter of this government but am disappointed by their apparent lack of control over things at present.

Having said that, if I was an MP I would rather be a member of an opposition party at present. Free to criticise each and every action of the Government without having to take any responsibility.

Covid has not gone away, the fall numbers is due to the measures working, if we all stop social distancing and go back to how it was, covid will come back. Herd immunity may work but only after 60% have had covid, at the moment it is under 20% and there is no certainty that it will work at all, and even if it does again nobody knows how long it would last. Covid will be with us until we have a vaccine that works and enough people have had it. I think another year at the earliest.

Doesn't matter if they wear them or not, as long as they keep 2m+ away.
Form what I've seen in UK and Europe social distancing of 2m in any real world smaller space is just not practicable unless you go back to full lockdown. Parts of Europe say 1m distance is all that's required but whichever way, masks make it much less of a risk if you do get closer so no excuse or reason not to wear one.
