They are sometimes marked SW & FW in uk but they can get mixed up as they are often next to each other

Well I guesS SW stands for smelly water ... but what is the FW for please?

You cant be sure that they are marked correctly and its illegal anyway
Ones in your garden are easy to check just flush the toilet and see what happens
In older homes you may have combined drains but newer will have separate ones for foul and rain water assuming you have mains drainage
