Could anyone advise re: 1200-1500w Halogen oven. Can this be used in a MH with EHU? I have no oven and this seems a practical piece of kit but I don't want to blow anything up.

Hi, Just to set your mind at rest.
Amps = Watts divided by Volts.
So in your case Amps = 1500 divided by 230 = 6.52 Amps.

In other words, unless you are on a site that only offers 6 amps you should be good to go.
However, word of caution. Make sure you turn off the big usage equipment in the 'van or whatever prior to cooking, and I'm talking Water boiler being run on Electricity as culmulatively you could take the usage into overload territory and blow the switch in the EHU (but that's all you would do and that could be reset)

Thanks both of the above. Very reassuring. Aldi have them in this week at a good price.

As a quick rule of thumb.... 4 amps per kilowatt ( 1 kilowatt = 1000watts)

Hubby loves his halogen oven, so much so that my Mum gave him one for Christmas!

I have one too as my motorhome doesn't have an oven. It's lot lighter and smaller than a microwave oven and easier to store. I have to admit I haven't used it a lot but I have made cakes, heated up prepared meals and cooked chicken. I'd say go for it!
