Used my Caravan Club card on M6 toll and paid £5.50 instead of £11.00 .
Don't usually use toll because of cost but big hold up on M6 this morning Link Removed

Yup. I've wondered if it applies to any vehicle, eg either of our cars or motorbikes, as well as the van?

My understanding is that it reduces the cost of a motorhome to that of a car, so no, no benefit if you are already in a car.

Problem arises when you go off at an exit without a manned barrier - an automatic one. I did that - and pushed the assistance button to request my discount - upon which the barrier opened and the voice said 'can I help you ?'
As the barrier had opened - I said 'no thanks - ok now' and drove through !

Never got a letter!!!!

Also on the CC website there is the facility to print off discount vouchers for any Roadchef services, 20% of food etc. The Norton Canes services on the toll road is a Roadchef so double winners!

Thanks for that info, going down through there tomorrow and didn't know you could use your card.

Damn, I should take more notice when reading threads, just looked back to see that it was the caravan club card. I have the C&CC card which doesnt count so got stung for the full £11 pound, didnt use it on the way back today and came through the M6 with no problems.

We tried the toll travelling north the other week. Member of C&CC, but not CC. Asked if there was discount for the Camping and Caravanning Club and he said yes, but when I handed over the membership card he said, 'Oh no, sorry, that's the wrong one'. So £11 it was - ouch.

Have since joined the Caravan Club, for various reasons, but at least will get the discount next time.

When booking for the NEC show last October we got half price toll tickets. Went in the Motorhome instead of the car so as to have facilities for breakfast/ lunch not to mention on board loo! Usually visit the show for a couple of days but with the rediculous cost of staying over - £30 p.n. we won't in future.
