I need to run a hair dryer for a three week trip to france (not continuously of course). any ideas????

hi putties,

sounds like a cheap inverter will do it.:thumb:

look on the drier for the wattage, usually on a label.

get an inverter slightly higher powered than the wattage you need.

shirls hot air wand is 150w and her curling tongs are about the same.

we have a 500w inverter fitted permenantly in the van but thats all it gets used for:Doh:

Bit vague that ,but you can go on electric hook up if on sites, use a generator if you have one , but make sure its rated high enough to power your hair dryer, or have an inverter fitted in your vehicle, again it will need to be powerefull enough to run your dryer, we have a 2000 watt inverter in or van and my wife uses her hair dryer from this, you will also need enough battery power to feed the inverter,and then you will need to keep recharging the batteries [ solar panels are a good way to do this. ].
