not long enough
I am in the middle of a bit of a mare with my mother and hospital admission , although not really related I could have done without bumping my MH ?

heading to friends on NYE, approaching Leicester on A46 southbound heading M1, came across possibly one of the worst signed roundabouts I have had the misfortune to drive round

heaven help any French drivers ??

I think I will end up with the blame insurance wise, but I have reported it and will leave it to them

gist of problem is the eye level signs show 2 lanes for M1 other 2 straight on for Leicester, so I sit myself in lane 3 which is effectively the near side for my manoeuvre, we don’t race and hate being in other folks way so would always do this

so pull on to roundabout start the right turn and we gain a lane to our left, so in I go, not knowing that painted on the road only allows the right hand lane of the Leicester straight on option to also turn right from that lane ?

this why it will be my fault as I cross my near side white line a car flies from my left hand blind spot, although I also thought nobody would be there, and we made contact ? low speed low impact so no big deal really just annoying

swapped details amicably, although I did ask where on earth he came from, annoyingly he said he lives and works locally knows the road explained the markings and sees lots of similar accidents at this spot ?

I did actually drive back and look again, he is not wrong but if traffic is on the markings as you pass you would never know ?

anyways, it’s happened so carried on to Brit stop , got a wet wipe out and cleaned the wound, already making massive improvement

as I said in the title I think I got lucky for a change ?

extra benefit that surprised me, I told my insurers I wouldn’t be claiming for mine, but expect to pay for his, so asked when I needed to pay the £500 XS ? they advised that as we are not claiming for our damage I don’t pay the XS ??

so even if my premium goes up as a result of this, it would have to more than double to go up by £500 so a double result ?

What with your luck on the head lights David, I notice a bit of trim there that looks like it’s touching the headlight..?
you don’t want it to pop if it’s touching try and move it away from the lamp...

well done on the polishing...??

Good spot on the bodywork, been like that since we got it, that bit of trim is plastic and very light weight ?

now have Lamin X plastic sheet covers on the glass and a ‘mended’ light unit at home with a plastic front thanks again to GWAYGWAY ? now I have that I will never need another ??

Really good result, might have to get some myself ?

Pleased you’re ok David and the damage was so light, but a bit disappointing that the other driver was aware of the road markings previously catching people out, yet he didn’t put himself in a position to preempt and prevent the collision, irrespective of him being in the right.

Looks like a great result for you. Spectacular clean-up.

That is amazing !
My first reaction at the first picture was OUCH ! that looks nasty..
What a stonlimk job the polish and you have done !

Such a shame it happened, you really didn't need that, but what a great recovery.
I think you'll be able to start a business with all the funsters wanting a polish, then there are their MH's.

Buy a lottery ticket ?
That G3 stuff is excellent. I only came across it recently on recommendation of someone else and it really works great. Available in Halfrauds too ☺

Surprised at how much damage on the car from just touching a bit of GPR & plastic, makes you wonder if the car was already had some damage.

You were a lucky boy but with your luck I'm waiting for the side of the Motorhome to fall off.

So difficult when we have to rely on road markings which into busy junctions are not always clear , locals know the roads but make no allowance for those that don’t.
No injuries only a bent car , unavoidable at times.
Keep smiling :giggle:
