Hi all, At the beginning of this year I noticed that the passenger side locker door won't open any more, it catches on the top right hand corner. I asked my local garage about it when it was in for it's MOT and they said I needed a new door and frame (Eeeekk!!) I don't want to take a hammer to the hinge and just wondered if anyone else has had the same problem, and how they resolved it? Thanks

Looks like there is a problem with the bottom right hinge. Can you get to the locker from the inside and push the door open? then sort out the hinge.

Lots of silicone spray and a good push from the inside in the top corner should pop that open.

Don’t forget to unlock/unlatch outside first, you may need an extra person to help.

As above it looks like the right hand hinge is most likely seized, if there is no access from behind which is quite likely I would get something in the frame gap and try to ease a gap so that the lock will release from the keep, then sortie hinge.

Take the hinge apart. Then refurb it if possible

Thanks all. I can get in from inside and I'm sure I can get it open...I'm more concerned if I get it open, I can't get it closed again:oops: that'll be 2 doors I can't lock :Eeek:

We had a problem with a warped/damaged frame on a locker door a few years ago. Luckily the inner part of the frame (attached to the van) and the panel were OK. I was able to take the door off and remove the panel from the frame then mount it in the new frame part. I had to buy the full frame kit rather than just the outer part, which was a pain, so have the inner part still in the garage at home :)

It looks like your hinges have been bent by dropping the door or applying pressure to it. Once you get it open I suggest you take them off and apply some persuasion to them to get them straight. Or see if you can buy new ones.

Hinges definitely not sitting correctly, have they been sprayed with WD40 because if they have nylon inserts that will bugger them as it causes nylon to swell.
A pair of new hinges should solve the problem.

Thanks I hadn't considered new hinges...and yes, WD40 has been liberally sprayed on it:(
