Hi all, I have a man coming to do a habitation service tomorrow. Can anyone tell me roughly how much this is likely to cost?

Our local NCC approved M.H. dealer charges £156 ( 3hrs labour ) & our local NCC approved car / commercial dealer charges £140.

As above, we were recently charged £152 + vat for our Autotrail.. You will get a little sticker too to say it's been checked. Ours was put next to the door..

Our local mobile guy charges £80 - 100 for a hab check, and our nearest dealership is similar, but I don't live in God's country like the OP

Qe pay £90 for full habitation including gas check which a few dealers don't cover. Prior to thus we used Brownhills but was well over £200 and we stopped using them 6 years ago.

Why bother with the Habitation Check!!!! It's not worth the paper it's written on!!
The only one you need to worry about is the Damp Check, anything within the Hab Check can be corrected it's basic but Damp has to be spotted but then only if you have 10 year or so Warranty.

I don't need anyone to tell me a Bulbs gone out or a Door doesn't open I test all on the Habitation Check by simply using the MH.

The only one you need to worry about is the Damp Check, anything within the Hab Check can be corrected it's basic but Damp has to be spotted but then only if you have 10 year or so Warranty.

I don't need anyone to tell me a Bulbs gone out or a Door doesn't open I test all on the Habitation Check by simply using the MH.

Its all done by the same people that do the PDI's LOL

I think they should do the water ingress for free "oh we have just sold you a £200k motorhome but you need to bring it back in a year to make sure we have made it properly and it doesn't leek"

Carthago dealers ask you to bring the van back after 3 months so they can check everything is working properly, guess what they charge you £130. More amazing most of the buyers get caught by this ruse and willingly pay up.

I've never had a habitation check on a van it has never caused any problems with warranty claims, it is just a con.

... and before Peter posts it himself ... Johns Cross give 3 years' free habitation checks with every camper they sell AFAIK ...

My guy does Habitation check and includes damp check and gas safety along with any repairs or adjustments or items we need fitting. He's an all rounder and for £90, I think well worth it
