Habitation door not locking

Hi All

just been doing some odd jobs on MH and notice that the Hab door doesn’t lock when I press central locking on FOB.
Will lock with key so not the end of the world but would like to get it sorted.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

maybe just a clean of the contacts. happens to our van now and again. do not use any form of abrasive paper just some thing to clean the crap off the surface.

That'll be it, bit of a rub with sandpaper then a bit of vaseline and all good

Was / is a common problem on Autotrails fitted with the Hartel doors.
As mentioned above, the contact become corroded as the cheapskates used plain steel.
Not sure if same type fitted on yours but worth a look and clean as required

Mmm I thought I knew what you meant re contacts but now I’m not so sure. Think the mechanism is covered by the lining on the door (if that makes sense).

There is a locking sound coming from the door but it doesn’t actually lock?

Ah, if you can hear the actuator in the door then you must be getting power through to it.
Not completely familiar with your door, but I have read somewhere that some suffer from a part of the mechanism at the lock coming loose. But I would check the contacts first.
They can be on either side of the door and can be 2 spring loaded plungers or simple flat metal contacts or in my case both.

On the Carthago the green wire comes loose on the contact pins

Central locking on habitation door

Central locking doesn't work on habitation door. Just wondered if anybody else has experienced the same and what they did to sort apart from going back to the dealer. This is the second van that I know that this has happened to in the first year of its life.
