If the habitation door hasn't been used for a week, the rubber door seal sticks to the frame.

Apart from the danger of damaging the seal if it should tear when opening the door;

Opening from the inside is simple enough, with a firm steady push :)

But from the outside it feels like the door opening catch might break off when pulling :(

Does anyone haveany suggestion for a simple fix please?

Living the dream.
Silicon spray is good as is talc, silicon grease or Vaseline will attract dust and grit. (y)

I read once that talcum powder works on rubber seals ...tried it on a caravan and it did the trick..(y)
Don't use talcum powder the purfume in it can rot the seals, use either baby powder or french chalk. I wouldn't use vaseline either it is petrolum based and will probably rot the seals.
Olive oil works well and there's always some in the van (well there is in ours).

many many years! since I was a kid
without doubt silicon spray is best for conditioning the rubbers and to prevent sticking, also excellent on zippers

A long time now
A light rub down with glycerine which you can buy in the cake making section in most supermarkets will ensure non sticking, very useful on any rubber seals coat both faces lightly.

The above seem to be tackling the effect and, clearly, you do need to do something. I'd try to find the cause and address that.

Silicone spray, again - it's specifically designed for use on rubber seals. Anything petroleum based (like Vaseline) can rot rubber. Silicone spray is very clean and won't leave the seal sticky at all.

Also great to use on the runners of cab windows, the "click-click" stays of habitation windows, zips and toilet cassette seals. Well worth keeping a tin in the van.
