Habitation door central locking contacts block (1 Viewer)

I have been searching the tinterweb high and low for one of these. It has been playing up for a while with intermittent contact and operation. I think its now come to an end with the long layup its become well corroded on the contact surfaces.
even with a clean and contact cleaner it still intermittent and rusts up again very quickly.

so;;;

I either need a replacement or maybe just replace the spring loaded contacts.. ANY IDEAS Please?

rb62 thanks for the info, i did buy one set to canabalise but it was overall way too big . but will look at the search criteria you have used. many thanks.

Made of steel so rust.
Complained to Autotrail back in 2013 and seen lots of similar issues over the years.
I just made it a regular thing to give them a clean. The contacts on the door are also steel so go rusty as well.

Damn, I have same problem. Keep a nail file handy to clean the contacts. Hoped someone would have an answer. Thought of using copper grease or a conductive paint.

I had that thought for a few years. Never got around to it.
On the AT Facebook group was a common thread.

Bought the Burstner instead. Sorted

Tried the copper grease does not last any longer then a good contact clean.

I am not giving up just yet.

I have been looking for better quality replacement pins as I think that will be the easiest option to find

They can be removed; I have been thinking about the possibility of having them chromed ( they are quite small ).

you have made me think now as to if it may be possible to put a sort of new "contact Pad" on the top of the pins with the electrical wire connected direct to the pad through a small drilled hole in the pin center.

well an update for those who have a similar fitting and problem.

could not find anything similar anywhere and was not prepared even to ask a main dealer for a price and delivery time...


Removed the small unit and it was well manky!! surface rust and crud!!
simple to strip down, A screw and 2 small circlips. The contact plungers are machined from solid hexagon steel, so quite robust.
A bit of TLC, a clean up, some contact lube and reassembled. checked out with the multimeter and replace on the van.

bingo all operational and working as new...... for now.

Its near 100% guarantee that it is a bespoke part made for or by Autotrail in very small numbers.

Your best bet is to strip it right down soak everything in oil attack it with fine wire wool and rebuild it yourself

I would be amazed if you can track a new one down.

I asked him but he's kinda busy right now.. he has been working with your name sake to ensuring its not "Only Italy" that his old and rusty team beat this 6 Nations.

already sorted done almost exactly as you have suggested, its off my ADRIA, not a big fan of Autotrail I'm afraid.

i think you did, by another poster so maybe they use the same bits or similar. Its the only bit on our Adria i have had any issues with for the 9 years we have had it... so it probably is an Autotrail part!!
