Sunday lunch for two in rural France. Seven courses, kir to start, and one bottle of “cheap” wine. Here’s a taster : the first course - croque monsieur.

A further clue. A terrine of brown lentil soup and a creamy tasty-bite apiece with three flavours, of which I can only remember sesame (and that’s before I opened the wine).

Have no idea of cost, have always wanted to do a taster menu, it's John's big birthday next year so maybe then.

I can recommend six by nico if there is one near you. Great food and nowhere near the prices some might charge.

These 5/6/7 courses are all very nice but generally far too much for me.
That Heston Bloominghecks thing we went to was a 12 or 13 one if i remember but vast majority had nowt on the plate
I am a 1 course person, happy with that.
Can't beat a bit of meat and 2 veg hey🤣🤣🤣🤣

Not particularly a taster menu, just proper courses for a French Sunday lunch.

Here’s the first of two entree courses…

Salmon, avocado and some salad stuff with dressing.

I said the “first entree” as listed on the menu. A substantial amuse bouche and a soup course preceded it. First entree as there was more than one :-)

Here’s the second entree ( fourth course).

Two croquettes apiece. One was veal-based, the other was chicken-based. Various other stuff inside.
