Thats only the fruiting body you can see.

Its the Mycelium underneath you need to worry about.

I would take the light out and check any woodwork below it and treat it.

I am no expert on fungi but if it is a bit pink underneath it might be a wood blewit. :)

I think they are light mushrooms so would be ok on a salad.

Pull the light and soak any wood behind with fungicide, you can only see the fruiting body the rest might go around the body, it spreads very fast in wet wood.

Obviously doesn't wash the van!!!!
Cheers, Dave(y)
Cheek, I washed it last month!

Thank, I'll take the lights out and give it a good soak behind with fungicide and spray any nearby wood I can see.

My thoughts too ... if there's no 'host' (ie wet wood) then it won't grow ....

many many years! since I was a kid
as already suggested, the part you can see on the light is just the body of the fungus. the root system is like a spiders web on the inside of the aluminium skin, drawing nutrients from the wooden frame. soak with fungicide then dry out and inject wood hardener then reseal the light cluster

You can use what we call 5 star in the building trade.
Should sort out dry and wet rot.
