On site we have a drain but its about 7m away. Dont have a pump will water just run away if you have a pipe (which i havent) . Do you let the tank fill before discharging in one go so it has some force behind it. Using buckets at the moment just dragged the waste hog to the motohome dump but a bit of a pain.

Are you on a serviced pitch? If so it's normal to use a pipe to the drain and just leave the waste tap open. If your on a standard pitch either use a bucket or wastehog as your doing or wait for the tank to fill then drive over to the dump area and empty the tank. You would normally refill the fresh water whilst there. 👍

Just fix a pipe and open the valve.
Leave it open, then you don't have to keep an eye on the level. Save any 'flushing' for when you dump normally.
Trying to 'flush' with a pipe attached will require someone at the open end to hold it and direct the flow. Without, it may jump about and miss the target.

You might find the end in the floor at the drain holds water as the pipe creates a hump when you push it in the drain. I solve this with a short bit of solid waste pipe and a 45 or 90 degree elbow.

Ok thanks . Yes serviced pitch but no pipe with us. Something else to buy but not sure of the connection to the waste pipe or size.

These seem to be popular with funsters. You will possibly need to make up an adaptor to fit your waste pipe outlet.

I use this and it works as long as there’s a bit of fall.
I need to do some fiddling with fitting burnt it work and doesn’t take up much room when rolled up.

Buck it and chuck it in the hedgerow, as we were told to do by our hosts. We’ve used mostly CL’s on a month trip around Norfolk and that was what we were told to do by the owners. Goes against our usual travelling style but when in Rome eh😎

I wait till I get somewhere with a drain. I know not possible for some, but we never stay that long.

Have a look at Colapz
If youre their for 3 weeks they could post to the campsite.
they did for us last year

That Flexi stuff is a bit more expensive than the Henry hoover pipe. Good shout about delivery to site, I'll bet Amazon would do that too 👍

Thanks for advice too much mither to get one posted we can make do with bucket or waste hog . I was asking for future trips and how you connect etc.

We just bought 5m of grey corrugated tubing from a caravan shop. I think it can be got cheaper from places doing ponds & the like. But you do need to know the diameter of your van waste pipe. We just used to push it on and open the waste tap. Fine as long as you didnt want it to run uphill!! (I say used to do this because current van outlet is not at the edge of the van) Then used to go into a pitch drain, or into hedge.

Encountered the same problem last year in Spain. Sun and static for a few days, not a good combination, things start to stink if tank not emptied on a regular basis. Went to B&q equivalent and picked up some metre lengths of small bore flexible pipe and push fittings. works a treat.

I put one of these under my waste tap and empty regularly
