Hi Funsters

Been getting some dripping from behind the grey waste tap of late.

Took apart the fittings today to discover that the grey pipe leading into the tap fitting had at some point been broken and a sealant was used to join into the tap to stop any dripping.

This sealant has now failed as its dripping.

I plan to cut out the broken section of pipe and re-join to the tap, my question is should I use anything like a solvent cement to join the pipe to the tap fitting or is there a preferred sealant any one can recommend ?

Many Thanks John

I just pushed ours together when I replaced it. I used trusty duct tape at the tank end to ensure it didn't fall off again!

Mines been held on with duct tape for over 5 years since I broke it completely on some rough ground. Doesn't leak at all.

I suspect it was a previous owner with a 'stealth dribble' ...

If you want a permanent seal then something like Griffon Uni-100 or Tangit (from Henkel) are good products, Screwfix has their own version of these and it's also perfectly good.

I'm assuming this is a PVC or U-PVC joint ?

Thanks for you responses.

I have "push-fit" it back together at the moment and all seems ok .. ..

Some real signs of age being displayed, I know that my NAN still has dripping on toast
