We are traveling to Turkey. Next year and have just found out that my insurer Safeguard won’t issue a green card or insure us at all in turkey. So I am asking your advice on who actually does ? Has anybody been and who did you use ? I know I can buy a green card at the border but like to have it all sorted before we go.

We are going on a tour next year that includes Turkey and Cyprus. We have been recommended to look at the following by the Tour operators. They did say that it’s just ones that have been used successfully by clients this year: NFU, Saga, Adrian Flux and LV. Comfort, Caravanguard, Safeguard and Scenic don’t.

It tends to be European Turkey so as far as the Bosphorus. Some of them you have to specifically request the Green card whereas NFU do it automatically.

Breakdown was more limited and they have said ask the individual insurers for quotes but also:

Nationwide Flex and DriverGuardian.

I have looked at DriverGuardian and for us it will be £119 and would cover multiple trips of up to 90 days, we are under 3.5 tons. Ours is due for renewal in March and we’re currently with Comfort. I will be trying NFU, LV and Saga. Too many on here have had trouble with Adrian Flux I think.

I think you might be! We met Kevin and Nurcan in Bologna a couple of weeks ago on their way out for the first time. There were a lot of A classes on it, only a couple of PVC’s like us. It sounds really good.
There’s another Howard going.

Also i am with Nationwide so have the flex which includes breakdown, as Carolyn says. I am doing the Canaries again next year, devil for punishment, but i want the sun. See you for the Cyprus tour, if not before.

Thanks Kenny you and Andy must be gb best customer 😂 I will try Nfu when my insurance is up for renewal. Did you get your knee sorted ?

I think Andy a lot more than me, he's doing Croatia also. By the time we got to Madrid, & after taking Ibuprofen 2 or 3 times aday for several days, everything was a lot better. I even walked around Madrid with Kevin etc, so was really happy. I think now it's all just age related. Yes, NFU maybe more expensive, but i think you get what you pay for, also i have a local office to visit if needed.
