I bought this heater a couple of years ago, only about £10 and finally got around to mounting it in the MH.

What a great little heater ! It's only 500w so won't trip any site supply. It has a two speed fan and a setable digital thermostat. You can set it to run for up to 9 hours, so set it to your desired temp go out for the evening and when you come back it should be at the same temp for you (depending on size of MH and outside temp) or set it to come on in 9 hours time so you could wake up to a warm MH. I had a look inside and it looks well made.

Anyway, It comes with an integral plug which mounts it, but I threw that away and mounted it on a bracket fixed to a solid shelf, the Chausson plastic bits are too brittle to bolt anything to. Right now I just have a mains lead to it, but over the winter I'll take the lead inside the bodywork to a mains supply.

Its brand name is Beldray if anyone fancies the same.

I've also got one, going to be testing it out next week in France, hopefully it'll do a good enough job of taking the chill out of the van in the mornings :)

We used a 500w one. Not big enough for winter but OK for a bit of summer heating on colder nights. Well made.

Agreed it would not do the job if you are camped up a mountain in a snow drift, but in our 6m motorhome with the curtains shut and bathroom door shut I think it would do the job in the sort of temperatures we go out in, which is above 5c.

Not sure about the position. I thought hot air rises.

It's tipped downwards a bit, but main consideration for me was to get it in a fixed position rather than have a fan heater sitting somewhere in the way and having to be packed away for travelling.

I bought a small plug in circular one for the van. It works brilliantly at heating up the van quickly while waiting for the van heating to kick in.

Only any good if you are on EHU as even at 500watts it would soon kill your
batteries if run from an inverter.
Also I would never leave any type of fan heater on while unattended

Yeah agreed about needing hook up.

In a previous life we had to test fan heaters which were given out to customers for free and re-test them if they were returned.

Apart from one bad batch from one manufacturer due to a manufacturing fault, we found that they were very safe. Probably way safer than using a tumble drier at home.
