For information in case anyone's interested in this type of thing.

We've just spent the weekend at Lytham St Annes staying with friends and went to have a look at this site out of curiousity. It's between Lytham and Preston.

It's all done round a western theme with line dancing and country music. Quite a few 5ers and US motorhomes on the site.

And usually the entertainment is free.

Great experience for the first visit to see the dancers and performers.

Local pub across the road and bit further up for a good and reasonably priced meal.

Convenient for Blackpool and Lytham St Annes.

Close by for a visit to the historical site of Brownhills...........

Do they still salute the Star Spangled banner at the end accompanied by guns going off in all directions?

Yes. But they have now added a gun salute to the Native American indians which if you are into that sort of thing I am glad about.

My abiding memory of that place was at the end of the afternoon session, about 4.00 pm I think, there was a baby asleep on one of the tables when all the guns started firing off. The baby never murmurred.
Apparently they all then went back to their cabins to get ready for the evening session.
