Whilst parked overnight a low life decided to draw a rude picture on the side of our motorhome. It appears to be permanent marker pen.
I have had a quick try with some washing up liquid to no avail. We are on our way home so couldn’t mess about for too long. There has been a recent post about fence paint overspray removal but I hope this is going to be a quick job.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I would suggest a light cutting compound, Autoglym super resin polish is very light and if that doesn’t work a slightly heavier one such as T cut but there are many more modern cutting agents to try.
Good luck with getting it off. 👍

Try white spirit

I'd take it to a professional vehicle valet.

There are several compounds that will remove the graffiti, the issue is you could then end up with a clean patch, so I'd book it in for a full clean and polish all over.

Thanks folks. I couldn’t find the fence paint overspray post this morning. Typically I have found it now.
I need some more Fast Glass so I will try the Resin Polish as Halfords have an offer on at the moment.
If it was a Banksy I would leave it on there but it looks like a two year old could do a better job.

Be. Careful using abrasive compounds, would something like alcohol hand sanitiser work?

This is a long shot and not sure if it would work on your MH, when I was working we used a white board to record jobs. If anyone wrote on the board with a permanent marker we could get it off by drawing over the writing with a dryboard marker & then wipe it off. The solvents in the dryboard marker mix with the permanent marker to enable it to be wiped off.

Similarly very successful is the cleaning spray for COVID for permanent pen.

You can remove permanent marker with Surgical Spirit, available from any chemist. I use it to remove permanent markers from plastic gardening labels. Just test on a 'hidden' part of the MH body to see what effect it has on paint as in that respect I can't be sure if it will also remove paint or not.

I thought it was a silly question so I am pleased with the response one and all.
It was a bit of a panic job because I didn’t want the motorhome to go in for service with a male member drawn on the side. Once we had unpacked I set to with various things, some that were sugested.
White spirit, nothing doing. Nail polish remover faded it. Pink Stuff cleaner with a damp cloth and bit of persuasion eventually shifted it.
I have no doubt it will have left a dull patch but hopefully once I have chance to get Halfords I can polish that out with Autoglym.

I think hairspray can remove pen/biro but I haven’t tried it!

The annoying part of all this is the fact that a policeman walked along the sea front were we were parked just before we went to bed. We were the only ones parked there and we slept soundly. Muttly wouldn’t have warned is because he was snoring loudly all night.

I always use petrol and carry a small can of lighter fuel for all kinds of marks and stickers

Dekaclean Ultra is good at removing many materials, including mastics and sealants, so might work on permanent marker as well.

I think part of the solution is to get it off ASAP, which thankfully you managed to do !

Heard similar, but the tutor swore by spray on deodorant, the cheap stuff, lynx, old spice, ect. Probably won't add additional problems if no good.

This works..may be hit and miss if you have used other things on it first

I won’t be naming the van after the graffiti but that word was used to describe the culprits.
It didn’t help that a youth on a bike with loud music playing on his phone came down our street on the pavement and told me to move. The power of my glare made him ride into the road. My opinion of a certain age group went down fast today.

I should photograph it before removing it. Could be a Banksy 🤔
More likely his younger brother, Broken Link Removed who has been known to spray big dicks around potholes in the Manchester area in order to embarrass the council into filling them in.
