The one thing that has stood out of this discussion is! Someone referred to their mobile phone as a cell phone. Please do not use this Americanism. They, the yanks murder the English language enough on their own. Do not encourage them.

The true technical term for what WE call the mobile, IS a Cellular Telephone. (abbreviated to Cell Phone), so called because the device works by the use of "cellular" technology, that is each Communication device can only "See" a limited range, so the signal is passed from "Cell" Tower to "Cell" Tower as you progress.

Like the yanks murder our language by still referring to the old English term of sidewalk when referring to pavements?

A couple of interesting snippets of info I was given this week. Hampshire Police have carried out some driver research recently.

Only 4% of collisions involved us oldies yet they resulted in 20% of all deaths.

When younger people are driving in poor light, it takes 2 seconds for their eyesight to normalise after being dazzled by oncoming headlights yet it takes 8 seconds for us oldies! They found that on busy roads this can effectively render us partially sighted as we drive through repeated 'dazzles'.

To be fair this would solve a multitude of issues

The pension shortfall
The housing crisis
People being run over in car parks
The healthcare crisis
Family members could pre-plan funerals at convenient times (ie not in the middle of the holidays)

Downsides include the lowering of residual values on MH's (more on market) and redundancies in the company that manufactures that awful smelling soap.

The Yanks kept on using the word sidewalk when we stopped and started using the word pavement. They use a few words that we have stopped using.

I can see some good in this, a very ordered method. We can plan to divide our assets and savings by the number of years we have left. Can't bear vagueness.
No need to plan things that we won't achieve. My wife is younger than me so she likes the plan !!!
