Hi, Anyone got any idea whats wrong with our van , Its Fiat based and its a Lunar Roadstar 2006 on Christmas day dicovered the engine battery was flat when Phantom rang to say there was a problem with our van , but it was still on the drive , the hab battery is fine and its on e/h so checked fuses and relays and all seem fine anyone know what else to look for . Betty

Hi Betty

The charger in the van doesn't charge the engine battery so it's probably gone flat due to standing for a while with the Fiat alarm on.
Have it recharged and in future if it's going to stand for a long time disconnect the negative lead from the battery.. or fit a small solar panel or one of the small trickle chargers that are often for sale in Aldi or Lidl to keep it charged.

Hope that helps

Jim

I have a 2005 roadstar. The van battery only charges on hook up when the control panel is switched to it. It will not charge both van and leisure at the same time.

I know the control panel was changed around 2006 so may be it allows charging of both, if so, Have you checked that the charger has not inadvertently been switched off?

A update of whats happened , It looks like the control panel was not put on to both batteries and with the alarm and the tracker both taking power from the van battery the van battery was running out of power , so today Peter charge the van battery and the control panel battery button when pressed started to charge on its own ,so it looks like it wont charge when the power is so low ,so we are hopping thats it and done and thanks for the interest . Betty
