My mom took very ill two weeks ago and sadly lost her fight for life just before midnight last thursday.
In the end it was a blessing as she was not really aware of any of us being there and she seemed to be in alot of pain.
I feel now it is to late that i should have gone to see her more but life always seems so busy.

So sorry to hear this. I had only just posted about spending as much time as I could with my parents. Hope my post was earlier than yours.

Don't forget that we all grow up and have our own lives and our parents expect us to live just as much as we expect our kids to have a life.

Remember the good times.

There is nothing sadder than losing your parents. As well as sadness how many of us feel guilt for not having done more? But your mom probably felt the same about her parents and would have been understanding, just as you will with any children you have and they will be with their children.

david, I am so sorry to hear your sad news.

Please don't feel guilty about not spending more time with your mum .... whenever someone we love dies we always have 'if only's' as part of the grief process.

I hope time brings some kind of peace to you so that you can look back with a smile at the good times, and some of the funny things your mum did or said. Sending you a hug.

Hi Dave,
Everyone is expressing my sentiments exactly. It helps, though you will still go through all the emotional pain anyway. Wishing you much strength over the days, months even years ahead. Tears can catch you unawares but give yourself permission to smile too.
All the best, Jane and Bob

Really sorry to hear this David.

It's so hard to take on board when it happens.

Don't beat yourself up over not being there enough as we feel the same way.

My condolences at your loss.

Chin up (not easy i know)
