We are returning from 6 weeks in Italy, now in France, at one of our favourite towns, Beaune. Finding campsites in Italy has not been easy, most closed at this time of year. Worth recommending a few - ACSI ones included Camping Covelo at Lake Iseo, Camping Village Molinella at Vieste (on the beach!), Green Village Assisi, Il Drago at Cassia, Campsite Le Soline at Casciano, south of Siena. We were very impressed with Sosta Grinto outside Turin, an independent campsite calling itself a sosta because the taxes are lower! Good sostas included Ostuni (very near to centre), Florence (via del Gelsomino) but unlike France, sostas can be quite expensive, and you often get little for your money - mainly parking over night 15 Euros is common. Grinto was exceptional but cost 24. I would not buy the sosta book again, we found Camperstop more useful and more comprehensible..
