CV40 Van conversion
Hi after quite a traumatic time trying to get a Compass CV40 registered (see previous posts) , I thought I would give an update with positive comments about the DVLA !
I ordered another CV40 (in stock vehicle) and the dealer called me on the 15th Feb to say he was going to send the paperwork to DVLA and would ask them to allocate a reg number as his 21 plates advance allocation hadn’t yet arrived.
My V5 for my new vehicle arrived on Saturday 27th Feb and the vehicle is showing on the DVLA site as taxed and registered already. This means that the DVLA turned round this registration in 10 working days including postage time to me .
Thought this info may give hope to those who are expecting the minimum 6 to 8 weeks that DVLA are currently quoting for registrations.
I am now expecting the new CV40 to be delivered to me on the 11th March by my dealer (who so far has been excellent) and looking forward to starting some happy adventures as soon as we are legally allowed .
it’s been a long road but I can see light at the end of the tunnel !

Well I have 2 stories. The Motorhome has just appeared on the website - took 5 weeks. Still no log book.

Motor Scooter took 1 day to appear on the DVLA website. Logbook appeared 4 days later. Both purchased about the same time.

That's because your scooter is registered via afril online so is basically instant. The motorhome registration has to be posted to DVLA and processed manually after working it's way up the queue.

One good story does not hide the fact they are not capable of melting a chocolate fireguard.
After 12 weeks I contacted the Chief Exec. and told her she and her dpt. are not fit for purpose.
Amazingly, and obviously by complete coincidence, my V5C arrived this week.
And would you believe this shower it's filled in wrongly.
So another email to Chief Exec., Hd. Of Complaints, Hd. Of off-site working groups I am thinking to copy my email to the toilet cleaner to see if that helps things along.
There a bag of Sh1t, the lot of them.

I object to that comment.
I find bags of Sh1t good for my garden. So there.

Well yes - I was aware of this. Just giving another side to the original post.

However, Are you suggesting that no motorhome dealers are able to register online? If so, why? It seems to me the process should all be online and then the delay problems would be solved.

After reading a similar thread on here, i contacted my dealer and pressed for an answer about the registration. They confirmed that they did it online and it would be done the day before we arrived to collect.

I have been told SOME dealers have the ability to register new vehicles on line, some don't and have to post the doc's. I have also had mails from DVLA that current waiting time for a new vehicle to be registered is between 6 and 8 weeks from receipt of paperwork.
We have been waiting 6 thus far so expecting good news any day.

I posted change of weight application on 18th January and the new V5C arrived today. It looks like it’s filled in correctly. Hope our licences are as quick later in the year.
