Pleasant little trilogy of films starring Bill Nighy currently showing on Netflix - start with Page Eight, move on to Turks and Caicos and finish with Salting the Battlefield. Espionage, politics and romance.

News of the world (Netflix)

Tom Hanks stars as a man travelling from town to town in the 1860s reading the news from other towns to the current town. .
He comes across a young girl who was snatched by Kiowa Indians as a baby and tries to find her family. .

Well worth a couple of hours.

Since 1964 Gosh that makes me feel old.
Time to resurrect this thread, we watched this movie a few nights ago & its a proper thriller in ways that you never see coming.

I recently watched Beautiful Boy, stunning film but a tearjerker. Timothee Chalamet is fabulous in it.

He’s also in Dune which we both really enjoyed, although full disclosure we haven’t seen the previous version to compare it to.

Free Guy was also really entertaining with Ryan Reynolds.

My older go to favourites include:

The Shawshank Redemption
Goonies
Fight club
Donnie Darko
The Breakfast Club
Moulin Rouge

Love a film thread 😊

It's A Sin, not a film but a Channel 4 mini series written by Russel T Davies, and set in the 80's.

Very moving, but also funny, and a reminder of life under Maggie, good and bad.
I am watching it again, as I binged it first time.
Fantastic scene with Stephen Fry.

Slapshot with Paul Newman, mostly about fighting where the occasional game of ice hockey breaks out.

Eye candy for ladies of a certain age as well
