How do you carry things on a motorcycle? I ordered some saddle bags but they look too big and only have a capacity of 2kg each. A top box will look even worse but you've got to be able to carry some stuff/shopping/beer or they're bloody useless (n)
No problem..

I can bet they arent.

The reason they were cheap in the first place is because people weren't prepared to pay that much, and so KTM took a bath to shift units and clear their warehouse.

used prices will now dive because they heavily discounted them , there will always be chancers who will try it on.

I don't think they were priced too over the top at £4500, when you think the Honda 125 scooter is going on 3 grand, and the Honda CB650F is £6500.
So at £3099 a bargain, selling them on might make a small profit but not really worth doing. Wonder what the old model sold for.

The market says otherwise.. at £4500 they weren't selling.. you have to look at what £4500 gets you secondhand.

I am guessing now, as i am out of the trade, but a dealer margin at £4500 would be around £800.. plus a volume bonus at the end of the year.

The big players will just shift them at £4k, with no trade in, to get the volume bonus, at £3099, that will be all the dealer margin, and the importer margin , and a bit more . I would say that there is a registration bonus from KTM so the dealer isnt doing them for nothing.

There may be more money in them , because they are made in India by Bajaj.. but they dont make themselves.

Looks like some people bought the 390 to sell on...

Unsold. He'll sell it in the spring no problem. The other new ones on ebay are still a lot cheaper than list, they've had a serious devaluing.
I feel sorry for the people trying to sell year old bikes, some are advertised at more than I paid new.

I'm guessing the dealers are more interested in new bikes sold and less in the second hand market even if they have to cut their margins. I'm now hoping they'll slash the price of the 690 with the 790 now out. I may get one of those too! :D

I'm looking at the MV 800 Dragster RC, but it's €22,000 here. Wonder if MV will have a sale ? :(

I have never seen one on the road... at 22k i can see why.

Lovely though.
The missus says I can have one. But she implied that I'd sell the GSXR. I want to keep that as well. We'll see....

MY mate was an MV dealer for a bit, they were beautiful bits of kit, and while the engineering and workmanship were as good as anything i ever saw, the styling of the naked ones left me cold.

Im sure you dont make her sell shoes to buy new ones.

The roads were finally dry albeit bloody freezing out we each took it for a local spin before the Beast from the East version 3 arrives tomorrow, probably clocked up less than that. Lil loved it as she doesn't like how gear dependent the 690 is.

Been out on it today, done 60 odd miles, got a bit wet on the way back. It's alright for short distances I suppose. It hits 6000 revs almost immediately so is quite limited when running in. 60mph = 6000 rpm
It's OK for overtaking 50mph brain deads, quite lively acceleration, but you do go above the 6000 rpm limit :sneaky:
If Ann won't get on it I can't see me keeping it, it's a lightweight compromise for the van.

These are really good. Quality aluminium and easy to fit, all you need is an M6 countersunk bolt and 2 penny washers as a spacer on the throttle side. £19.34 on ebay.

I must say the more I ride it the more I like it, fetched the currys on it last night, what a pleasure to blast past all the queuing cars in town

What are the bar end mirrors like for filtering through lanes of traffic in comparison to the original mirrors? Are they at a similar height to car wing mirrors?

Can't say I noticed last night, but if it's that tight to get through that I'm thinking about mirrors I wouldn't bother trying. Probably higher up anyway, and you can have them turned inwards if you want... Or if you're a proper hooligan you can even have them underneath the bars :ROFLMAO:

Me and my mate (who also has one, but the slower white version) went out for a blast round north Norfolk on Saturday. He's already run his in but I haven't yet so was limited to 64mph but what a laugh these little bikes are! They sure turn into corners quicker than my GS! Nearly caught me out a couple of times. Did about 120 miles. They're good on fuel too.
As for the bar end mirrors, they're ok but can't be fitted if you have the KTM hand / knuckle guards like wot I have. Anyway, they'd make it more difficult getting the bike in and out of the back of the Motorhome. Good cheap fun.
