Hi all,
My wife and I and two children, aged 5 & 3, are taking our first trip in our Motorhome to the continent in July for 3 weeks around Normandy and Brittany. As we never visited these regions before we would love to pick your brains and advise us on best areas / campsites to stay in. We are hoping to stay in campsites which have great facilities for the children....swiming pool etc.. As always we appreciate your time and help with this:):)

The lack of responses may be due to many on here not taking smaller children, especially in the high season period when we cannot get discounts on fees. Look at who the main camp companies use, such as Eurocamp. They usually only use good, full child facility sites. They will not be cheap.
I have no doubt someone will be along soon with a suggestion.
This post will bump your request to the top again.

We have stayed here a couple of times

http://www.camping-plage.com/en/

The pool isn't up to much but its a nice site next to a sandy beach

We went in the May half term when it was quite quiet, but I cant say what its like in high season.

There is what looks like a pretty decent campsite on the outskirts of Honfleur.

We've not used it but cycled past a couple of times during the summer and it always seems there are lots of families using it.

Actually Risteard - a lot of us don't use campsites very often if ever. And a lot of us don't have children, of any age, in tow now. So what we think are wonderful, probably wouldn't suit you at all (until you are in the same position and maybe not even then)

However - try UK Campsites website - http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/

Scroll down, choose France then choose Normandy or Brittany. Always worth reading the reviews, look for ones from folk with kids the sam-ish age, and then when you have a shortlist that sound about right, post again asking if anybody has been to any of these specific sites?

Which is a much easier question to answer!

We stayed at Les sables blancs at Concarneau last year for a few days and would Definately return. Nice site with lovely infinity style pool and hot tub.
Close to beach and main town a nice walk away. Not a holiday site with loads of kids things and water park etc tho. That said the beach is about 5 mins away!!!
As above posts - each to their own, and we don't have kids in tow, but that is a nice site - and you asked for recommendations so here is one!!!

There's a nice municiple at Arromanches-les-Bains, has got any real facilities but you're a quick walk to a very flat beach, well the British thought so on D Day. The town is pleasant as well.

Camping Le Ranolien, between Perros-Guirec and Tregastel (Brittany) is well-placed for exploring the lovely Pink Granite Coast and is kiddie friendly. The nearby Ile Renote (not actually an island) is a lovely spot with an unusual beach, best explored at low tide.

Mine are 21 & 23 now but when young from toddlers in fact we visited Brittany many times. mainly along the south coast, with Carnac being a particular favorite along with Benodet, we had some memorable holidays

Sorry cant think of campsite names now as to long ago but just look at reviews and camping guides...Read between the lines and book well in advance!:)

the weather not far enough south to be truly guaranteed but we had some great summers there. But eventually more experience, and inconsistent weather pushed us south and BEYOND!:D

Hi Risteard, recommend http://www.camping-les-embruns.com/
Stayed there this Autumn and has great facilities for kids with its own local shop for bread etc. Beautiful Sandy beach a short walk away. If going in July I would recommend you book.

We used to go here regularly about 30 years ago! Its in south west Brittany

Still looks nice and in a lovely area. Lots to explore, beautiful countryside, cider and lots of safe beaches. Concarneau and Qumper are close by and worth a visit.
Most of the campsites we used then were municipals, maybe not what you are after but the coast around Brittany is beautiful, there are bound to be many that are suitable. Benodet and Beg Meil are nice places, as is Carnac.
