Good campsite near Bordeaux (1 Viewer)

Bit of quick advise needed. Just in Aire at La Palmyre, great spot 2 minute walk from beach and 5 minutes from town and €10 per night, and had planned to go to Bordeaux tomorrow to visit the city for two days. Now however with the temperature for the next few days forecast to be around 39 deg. think a campsite with a nice pool would be better than trailing round a hot city.

Heading to the Languedoc and friends on Wed. so could anyone recommend a nice site in Bordeaux area for a couple of nights. Doesn't need to be that close to the city as can visit it on another trip. Thanks

Twin lakes is near Bordeaux - peaceful site, good bar, nice friendly owner

Not been in the pool as only been there in the spring/Autumn.

campsite montalivet les bains

SW of Bordeaux, not far and easy access. Whole site had a makeover, new pool built about 4 years ago. Easy access into the town, with great restaurants and market. Cycle routes or walk through forest to stunning beach.

Thanks for your advice. We were heading to Montalet les Bains yesterday but got stuck in a couple of traffic jams around Bordeaux. Cab temperature rose to 47 degrees and we quickly came to two conclusions! Did not want to risk this again on Wednesday on our way to Lanquedoc as had to come back this way. Second one, we love the layout and quality of our Laika but definitely need to change it for the same but with cab air con!
Found a lovely site near Agen in a shaded wood with a nice pool. Happy days.
