hi
we are going to France for 10 days at the beginning of July. This will be our first trip abroad and we are travelling via the tunnel, paid for using our Tesco vouchers. We have decided to travel to Normandy to see the WW2 beaches first and stay in this area for a few days, then hopefully see Mont St Michel. That’s about as far as I think we should go, we are prepared to stay at campsites but don’t mind wild camping if we find some nice places near lakes or the coast. Theirs a lot to plan but if anyone has any advice on nice sites or places to go we would appreciate it. No kids just me, wife and the chihuahua , we can’t wait

No advice, other than to look at some of the many threads on here about Normandy and WW2.
Enjoy!

There is a 360 degree cinema, you stand and watch the D-Day landings on the walls around you, on the cliff top above Arromanche, the price of the ticket allows you to stay overnight on the clifftop overlooking the beach although you have to be leaving by 8 am the following morning.
There is an Aire at Mont St Michel that is quite expensive and it is little more than a large carpark but it is the closest you can get as you cannot park on the beach these days, enjoy the fun.

For the D-Day landings start at Pegasus Bridge, near Caen then move west along the coast, most of the places are well signposted, but you can get a guidebook at the museum at Pegasus Bridge.

Wild camping is not so popular in France, instead use the wide network of aires but be prepared for them to be busy as you'll probably clash with French holidays after mid-July. Best to plan to stop early afternoon near somewhere you intend to visit.

Mont St Michel is worth a visit although you can't drive over to it now, need to use the official car-park or walk/take the transfer bus.
