At Sutton on Sea we have a really good traditional butcher, and he introduced me to Lincolnshire Haslet. I think I did have it as a kid once, but this stuff is a delight. Sliced thinly it goes well with a meat platter, or in sarnies. Our fridge now always has a lump of it within, though not for long!
The size is bigger than a cricket ball and they cost £3 each. It's a family recipe but essentially it is a special mix of herbs and sausage-meat baked in their own ovens.
If you'd like me to bring you an individually wrapped Haslet to Lincoln then shout up here and I'll get him to bake some special.
